Jeon Chan-min, Skeleton President: "This World Cup is a 'pilot' It must succeed"

"This World Cup is like a 'pilot' competition. We absolutely must succeed."

This was said by Jeon Chan-min, the president of the Korea Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (KBSF), who was met at the Pyeongchang Olympic Sliding Center in Gangwon Province, where the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) Skeleton World Cup was being held on the 16th.

The PyeongChang track, which had been abandoned for a while after the spectacular 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics without finding a clear purpose, has been bustling with athletes, coaches, and officials participating in the World Cup since last week.

The IBSF World Cup is the most prestigious bobsleigh and skeleton competition held over a season.

This is the first time since the PyeongChang Olympics that a competition of this scale has been held at the PyeongChang Sliding Center.

It has been seven years since the Bobsleigh and Skeleton World Cup was held here in 2017 ahead of the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics.

The former president played a major role in Korea's bid to host the 파워볼 World Cup again.

The former chairman, who runs a quarantine company called Pharmcle, which has nothing to do with sports, coincidentally took on the position of KBSF director in 2006 at the request of an acquaintance, and naturally became a 'family member' with the sledders while experiencing the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics.

He, who had assumed the position of chairman before he knew it, was elected vice chairman of the IBSF in July 2022.

Thanks to this, Asia's voice has become louder in the international sledding world, and this trend has led to the beginning of the 2024-2025 IBSF World Cup season being called the 'Asian Season' (1st and 2nd Pyeongchang, 3rd Yanqing, China).
